University of Charleston Athletics

Debbie Bannister has been the Faculty Athletic Representative at UC since 2023. Her role includes assisting as the liaison between the athletics department and faculty, helping student athletes with academic success and serving on the Student Academic Affairs Committee.

As a 1991 alumni, Debbie earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Charleston along with a Master of Arts in Education – Curriculum and Instruction, from the University of Phoenix. Debbie has worked at UC since August of 1986 and is currently the Director of Student Success and First Year Programs.

Born and raised in West Virginia, Debbie resides with her husband in Charleston. She spends most of her free time with her two children and six grandchildren.
