Coach Arthur is entering his second season as an assistant coach for the Charleston Track & Field program working with the Sprints, Hurdles, and Jumps groups.
During his first season, Coach Arthur’s event groups played a significant role in securing four team conference championships on both the men’s and women’s sides. His athletes earned 25 All-Conference honors and produced 4 individual conference champions on the men’s team, along with 33 All-Conference honors and 3 individual champions on the women’s team. In total, Coach Arthur’s groups were responsible for 16 of the 26 school records broken during the 2025 season.
Prior to Charleston, Coach Arthur was a graduate assistant coach at Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio, earning a Masters of Allied Health: Exercise Science degree. During his time at Otterbein, he was the lead coach for the High Jump and Hurdle groups and was also the developer of the strength and conditioning programs for sprints, hurdles, and jumps. In his one year there, his athletes earned 8 All-OAC Honors, 2 OAC Champions, and 1 Division III National Championship Qualifier.
Coach Arthur began his coaching career as the Head Track & Field Coach of Poca High School, his alma mater. During the 2023 season, he led the girls’ team to record the most points scored in school history in his second season.
Coach Arthur is a native of Poca, WV where he found his interest in the sport. Upon graduation in 2016, he was recruited to run track at Glenville State College, where he developed his passion for Track & Field. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Conditioning & Coaching, class of 2020. He had a successful track & field career, setting two school records in the 400m Hurdles and Long jump, and setting an MEC record in the 400m Hurdles. He is a 3-time individual MEC Champion and scored just over 92 points in his career at the outdoor MEC championships, as well as earing 2 All-Atlantic Region Honors.
