Women's Basketball Drops Close Contest to Hawaii-Pacific

HONOLULU, Hawaii - The University of Charleston women's basketball team rallied from a seven-point deficit with less than two minutes left to tie the game, but a late free throw gave Hawaii-Pacific a 68-67 victory, Wedensday evening.

Trailing 67-60, UC scored the next seven points - five from senior guard Ali Tobias, yet Courtney Buster grabbed an offensive rebound on the Seawarriors final possession and was fouled with just three seconds remaining. Buster missed the front end of her two shots, but sank the second shot to in turn sink the comeback effort of the Golden Eagles and secure the HPU victory.

Lindsey Kentner led Charleston with a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds, while Tobias added 14 points in the loss.

For Hawaii-Pacific (3-3), Paris Gravely scored a game-high 19 points with Mana Hopkins adding 14 points and nine rebounds.

Charleston doesn't waste anytime getting back on the court as the Golden Eagles faceoff against BYU-Hawaii at 7:30pm EST or 12:30 HST.
