HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Three Norse players recorded double-digit kills as the Northern Kentucky University volleyball team posted a 25-10, 24-26, 25-17, 25-13 victory against Charleston (W.Va.) in Regents Hall, Wednesday night.
Charleston remained winless in the series against NKU as the Norse hit .423 during the first set to roll to a 25-10 victory, but the Golden Eagles fought back behind the attack of senior Emalee Luther (Fort Pierce, Fla./John Carroll) to pull out a 26-24 win in the second stanza to tie the match at one set apiece. Luther led the way for UC with eight kills, while hitting .240 for the evening.
NKU served up five aces in the third set and coasted to a 25-17 win, while holding Charleston a -.207 hitting percentage in the fourth set to clinch the 3-1 win.
Charleston will look to rebound as it hosts the UC Invitational this weekend starting with a 12:00pm matchup against Converse at Eddie King Gym.
