Theisen Hometown News Release

Ludewig Hometown News Release

CHARLESTON, W.Va.
– University of Charleston women’s basketball head coach Sherry Winn is pleased to announce the addition of Kaitlyn Theisen and Padyen Ludewig to the Golden Eagles roster for the 2011-12 season as each recently signed National Letters of Intent to attend UC.

Theisen, a Saranac, Mich. native, put up impressive numbers at Saranac H.S. last season as she recorded 19 points and 6.3 rebounds for the Redskins, while also accounting for 4.0 assists and 3.5 steals per game. Theisen was a three-time First Team All-Conference and Detroit Area Free-Press All-State selection, while bringing a true three-point threat to UC as she poured in 150 three-pointers en route to scoring 1,370 points in her high school career.

"When you combine heart with intelligence, you get a player who has a coach's mind. This is Kaitlyn. We look to her to bring fire and a competitive drive to the court." commented coach Winn.

Ludewig joins Charleston from Magnolia H.S. in New Martinsville, W.Va. as a two-time First Team All-State selection. The two-time All-OVAC award winner recorded 18 points and 4.0 steals/assists per game as a senior as she topped the 1,000 point career mark on Jan. 18.

Coach Winn stated, "We love players who recruit us and Padyn is one of those. She comes with a love of our program already established. We know she will give us 100% of her heart, mind and body."

Theisen and Ludewig join a Golden Eagles program that is the defending West Virginia Conference regular season champion as they netted a 24-8 overall record.
