Charleston, W.Va. - Former Charleston soccer standouts Sean Teepen and Predrag Ivanovic will be joining the UC Men's Soccer staff for the upcoming 2013 season.
Predrag "Petsa" Ivanovic has been hired as an assistant coach for the UC program and will start his duties in August. Ivanovic, a native of Serbia, played for the Golden Eagles between 2009 and 2010, and was a NSCAA All-American selection. He then transferred to Jacksonville University for his final two seasons. Since his graduation Ivanovic has joined the coaching ranks, first as a volunteer assistant coach with the UC program last season, and this summer as the head coach for the PDL franchise, West Virginia Chaos.
"Petsa was truly a standout candidate in the group of very good applicants," Coach Grassie stated. "He has such a good work ethic, and having had him alongside me last season really helped us progress as a program. Petsa is also held in very high regard by our players, so I know he will be able to hit the ground running as he joins us full-time. I'm excited to add Petsa to what is now one of the best young coaching staff's in the division."
Just days after signing his first professional contract, Sean Teepen has agreed to join the UC coaching staff as the program's GoalKeeper coach. Coach Grasse stated, "We are really excited to have Sean join our staff. He has a tremendous knowledge of the position. More importantly, he knows what it takes to be successful at UC. He has the perfect personality for this role and has energy and positivity in spades. I couldn't be happier at how our coaching staff is shaping up, as it's another piece of the puzzle in place in our hunt for a national title."
