The Golden Eagles dropped the thunder to the West Liberty Hilltoppers Friday night at Eddie King Gym. In the first game, UC quickly built a large lead shocking the Hilltoppers with 17 lightning strikes to the floor. West Liberty had a late rally at the close of the game but it wasn't enough as the Golden Eagles won 26-24. In the second, UC again quickly took the lead and never let up finishing the game 25-12. Game two UC came away with 13 kills while accounting for only one error. In the third, West Liberty took a small lead and battled to maintain that lead with the help of seven errors from UC. Commanding attacks by the Golden Eagles outside hitters eliminated the lead once scoring got into the teens. UC closed the match out 25-19. The Golden Eagles were lead in kills by Olivia Livengood, assist by Melissa Reyes, digs by Katharine Furlong, and blocks by Brenna Youlton.
