FRANKFORK – KY. - The Golden Eagles lost a hard fought five-set match to Kentucky State University Tuesday night.Â
University of Charleston fought hard to win the first set 26-24, then lost momentum in the second game losing 14-25. The third set went to the Golden Eagles 25-20, however, the Thorobreds fought back in the fourth set to win 22-25. The last set was a quick 6-15 for Kentucky State.
Payton Logan (Brentwood, TN) led the Golden Eagles with 14 kills and 16 digs.
Jordan Wittekind (Charleston, WV) and
Randi Estrada (Keaau, HI) both contributed offensively with eight kills each.Â
Latosha Scott was the big offensive threat for Kentucky State with 24 kills. Emily Grieshaber also showed well with 14 kills.
The Golden Eagles will be on the road again this Friday and Saturday as they take on Concord University and UVA-Wise.
