NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The #1 ranked University of Charleston took the pitch on the campus of Merrimack College in the round of 16 and Atlantic Regional final and secured a 1-0 victory over #7 Mercyhust University. 

The Lakers from Pennsylvania used a steady dose of possession and physical play to keep UC's one-touch passing offense off balance leading in the shots category 14-9 in favor of MU.

However, a consistent and steady minded keeper by the way of Fabian Veit (Dielheim, Germany) had a plan of himself.  With multiple saves and key punch outs Veit maintained a 1-0 lead after Augusto Maciel (Sao Paulo, Brazil) sent a through ball that found the left foot of Kevin Feucht (Schwetzingen, Germany) and a one versus one in which Feucht beat the goalkeeper Nicolas Smith in the 26^th minute for his sixth goal of the season.  Maciel recorded his 13th assist and 47th point of the season.   

The Lakers best chance of the game came in the 44^th minute, when Sten Marcson ripped a shot off the left post that Veit had deflected away.  With the shutout Veit moves to 15-0-1 on the season and passes current keepers Coach Sean Teepen on the All-time records books in shutouts in a season list with 11 putting him 2^nd overall. 

UC moves to 20-0-1 on the season and will play either LIU Post or Merrimack in the NCAA Quarterfinals on 1pm on Saturday.
