CHARLESTON - University of Charleston women's basketball easily dismantled the Fighting Scots from Ohio Valley University  in record setting fashion, knocking down 17 three-pointers on their way to a 85-36 win Saturday afternoon at Eddie King Gymnasium.
Leading the fury of triples was senior guard, 
LeAnne Ross, who alone drained seven from long range, a career best from the three point sniper..  The 17 made three-pointers is a University of Charleston women's basketball record, surpassing the previous high of 16 makes which last happened in the 2013-14 season in a home game against Shepherd University.  Charleston got double figure scoring from four players, led by Ross's 21 points on 7-for-14 shooting.  
As a team, the Golden Eagles attempted 44 three's, canning 17 to convert at 39%.  For the second consecutive game, 13 players were in the scoring column for Charleston with the bench scoring 41 points compared to only two points scored by Ohio Valley.
Ghameera McCullers was a bright spot for the Fighting Scots scoring 18 points and played all 40 minutes for the undermanned Ohio Valley team who only dressed six players for Saturday's contest.
The 17th made triple came with 1:54 remainining in the contest when senior forward 
Shannon Zasloff found sophomore guard 
Erica Comer in the right corner on a catch and shoot.  Comer calmly stepped into the shot and drained it, touching nothing but the bottom of the net.
The 85-36 win improved Charleston's overall record to 7-2 on the season.  UC heads to Chowan University next Saturday for a 2 p.m. tip.
