CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The University of Charleston Men's Basketball team defeated Ohio State University-Newark by the score of 96-58, Sunday afternoon, at Eddie King Gym.
Charleston was led by junior guard
Tino DiTrapano (Charleston, WV) with 15 points, four assists, and three rebounds.Â
Aleksander Kesic (Belgrade, Serbia) chipped in 13 points and five rebounds to round of the starters in double figures.Â
Cameron Dozier (Graceville, FL) found his way ducking and dodging through the defense to help his teammates find shots as he had eight assists and eight rebounds to go with his five points.Â
The key was UC bench which manufactured 52 points in the contest. Fourteen points and eight rebounds from
Octavius Green (Gainesville, FL ) and 11 points from
Charles Cooley (Riverdale, MD) sparked the Golden Eagles who manage to outscore the Titian by 25 points in the second half. Charleston dominated the boards outrebounding Newark by 19 including a 21-10 margin on the offensive glass.Â
Newark was led by Jordan Gibbs who had a game high with 20 points. Korey Brown was 4-10 from three point range and added 12 points.Â
UC moves to 5-3 on the season and will travel to Virginia State for a regional match-up on Tuesday with tip-off set for 7:30pm.Â
