Athens, W.Va. -Â The University of Charleston Women's Soccer Team beat Concord University 1-0 Sunday afternoon in Mountain East Conference play at Anderson Field.
Cold weather, a wet field, and Concord University's Senior Day could not stop the University of Charleston from getting an important road win. The majority of the game was played in the midfield; however Charleston created plenty of scoring opportunities against the Concord defense.
It was in the 83rd minute that freshman Hannah Myers (Saint Albans, W.Va.) was able to get a shot past Concord goalkeeper Kaylee Taylor for the win. The Golden Eagles outshot the Mountain Lions 15-5 on the day. On the opposite end of the field, the UC defense was able to record another shutout that was anchored by goalkeeper Zoe Zyta (Listowel, Ontario).
The University of Charleston travels to Shepherd University for their last away game of the regular season on Wednesday.
