Shepherdstown, W.Va. - On a rainy Wednesday afternoon in Shepherdstown, WV, the Golden Eagles played the Rams of Shepherd University for their final MEC regular season away game.
Shepherd registered the first goal of the match off of a corner in the 18th minute. UC would even the score at 1-1 in the 66th minute when a Shepherd defender scored on her own goal. Shepherd would then take the lead in the 70th minute as a ball was played through on the right side. UC would then tie the game in the 78th minute when senior Lauren Haven (Nassau, Bahamas) found freshman Hannah Myers (Saint Albans, W.Va.) on the left flank. Myers slotted the ball past Shepherd's netminder.
UC held the advantage in shots 19/9 with a few quality scoring opportunities in the extra time. UC's record improved to 9-3-5 and the Rams' record went to 7-7-3. UC returns to action for their last regular season game on Saturday night at 6pm against the visiting Cardinals of Wheeling Jesuit University. UC will also recognize their eight seniors during this game.
