CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The Golden Eagles were once again back to winning ways defeating Shepherd 2-0 at Schoenbaum Stadium.

The Eagles opened the scoring inside eight minutes when
Conor Branson's beautifully weighted through ball was met first time by
Augusto Maciel. Maciel calmly volleyed the ball into the back of the net, reminding Shepherd defenders that he cannot be given a yard of space inside the box.

It was on the 28
th minute when UC struck again with an excellent team move that involved numerous passes created a crossing opportunity for
Bruno Oliveira. Oliveira picked out
Renan Ramos who graciously nodded home from 6 yards out.

UC dominated possession seeing around 90% of the ball. Shepherd were camped in their own half for the onset of the game, but denied the Eagles any more goals in the second half. Charleston may be disappointed not to further the scoring after outshooting their opponents 32-1. They also had 11 corner kicks to Shepherd 0.

It was a day that highlighted the excellent work of Head Coach Chris Grassie, as this was his 68
th win, meaning he has won more games than any other men's soccer coach at the school, ever. He was quick to play down the accolade stating, "I have been fortunate to work with some great players over the years, and the wins wouldn't be possible without the players".

UC are now 8-1-0 for the season. They are back in action next Wednesday against AB.
