WHEELING, W.Va. - The University of Charleston's third seeded women's volleyball team fell to second seeded Fairmont State University Friday evening in the semifinal match of the Mountain East Conference Tournament, held at Wheeling Jesuit University.
UC came out strong in the first set of this four set match, winning 25-19. Fairmont then answered back three sets in a row, winning 25-17, 25-21, and 25-17.
Jordan Wittekind led the team with 13 kills. Shiann White was close behind with 12 kills and 18 digs. Freshman Mia Herrod earned 7 kills. McKensie Milam and Claire Lambert both accumulated 15 digs.
Fairmont was led by MacKenzie Harrison with 15 kills. Kaitlyn Witsaman was close behind with 14 kills.
Charleston finishes the season with a 20-11 record, surpassing last season's win total of nine with 11 more wins.
