ATHENS, W.Va. – Charleston outscores the Mountain Lions by 16 in the third quarter to earn their first Mountain East Conference win of the season, defeating Concord by a final of 60-39.

Kiara Johnson posted a double-double in her second game back in uniform for UC, totaling 11 points and 13 rebounds in the win. Charleston's leading scorer Chyress Lockhart again paced the Golden Eagles in the scoring column with 12 points and hit all seven of her free throw attempts. Mya Walker chipped in 11 points and connected on two of her three point tries.

Charleston trailed by four at the break, 16-20, before coming alive in the second half to outscore the Mountain Lions by 23 over the final two periods. UC had two runs where they scored 14 straight points in the third period followed by a 15-0 run to start the fourth that put them in control of the MEC matchup.

The Golden Eagles go back out of conference after the Thanksgiving holiday to travel to Frankfort, Ky. and play Kentucky State next Monday.
