Softball Picks Up Two More Wins

CLERMONT, Fla. – The University of Charleston Women's Softball Team picked up two more victories Friday night in the NTC Games in Clermont, Fla.
 
UC first knocked off Millersville University 3-2 behind a combined pitching effort in which three UC pitchers saw action, Freshman Jessie Rowe with the start and pitched two and one thirds,

Courtney Fain garnered the win in four and two thirds of relief, and Morgan Aguirre picking up the one out save.  At the plate Cortney Norris was 2-for-3 with a triple and an rbi. Ayla Santos and Alyssa Stanley each had a hit a piece for UC while Kelly Browning and Natalie Beck each came off the bench with pinch hit singles including a two-out rbi single from Browning.

In game two, Charleston knocked off Kutztown University by the score of 6-2.  Morgan Aguirre went the distance picking up her fifth win of the season striking out seven in the complete game effort.  The Golden Eagles offense was led by Santos whose 2-run homerun in the first inning gave UC an early lead.  Santos had three rbi's in the game while Jenna Evans added two hits and scored two runs. 

Charleston is now 11-2 on the season and will be back in action Wednesday against Bluefield State with first pitch slated for 2pm in the doubleheader.
