CHARLESTON, W.Va. -Â Women's Softball was back in action on a cold Saturday afternoon as they hosted West Liberty University in a MEC double-header. The Golden Eagles took both ends of the double-header in five innings winning 11-0 and 15-5.Â
UC was led by
Courtney Fain whose perfect game paced game one. Charleston pounded 10 hits and took advantage of numerous Hilltopper mistakes to win 11-0 in five innings. Fain's perfect five innings saw her fan 11 batters as she moved to 9-3 on the season. Freshman
Bethany Williams drove in four runs on a two-for-four game at the plate including a double and scoring two runs.Â
Kelly Browning continued her hot streak of hitting going two-for-three with two runs batted in.
As for game two, Freshman
Jessie Rowe took the mound and threw four innings surrendering three runs in the 15-5 victory. She is now 3-1 on the season. UC once again put together 10 hits and used six West Liberty errors to score multiple runs in the first three innings.Â
Andrea Hayes was two-for-three with two double and two runs batted in.Â
UC is now 19-4 on the season and 6-2 in Mountain East Conference play. The Golden Eagles are back in action tomorrow as they host Wheeling Jesuit University with first pitch slated for 1pm.Â
