CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The University of Charleston women's softball team extended its winning streak to eight games Tuesday afternoon by sweeping two games from Kentucky Christian University. UC moved to 23-4 on the season after the 3-1 and 9-1 victories.
Kentucky Christian fell to 14-3 on the season, entering today's double-header KCU offense was hitting .376 and generating nine runs a game this season. Then along came the buzz saw of the UC pitching staff led by Mountain East Conference Pitcher of the Week

Jessie Rowe. On the day UC surrendered just four hits, two runs, while striking out 19 KCU batters. Charleston's Fain retired 15 batters via strikeout and Rowe four in just five innings of work of game two.
At the plate for UC,
Alyssa Stanley went 3-for-3 in game two with four runs batted in and scoring two runs.
Cortney Norris was 3-for-6 over the two games with three runs scored and two RBI's which came in the bottom of the sixth inning of game one with two outs and the score tied at one.
Katelyn Hamilton continued her hot streak of hitting batting .500 over the double-header with two doubles.
Bethany Williams recorded a hit in each game with her walk-off single plating two runs in the bottom of the fifth to invoke the eight run rule in game two. On the day the Golden Eagles tallied 16 hits, scored 12 runs, hit six doubles, while
Kelly Browning hit her fourth homerun of the season.
For Kentucky Christian Katelyn Miller took her first loss of the season moving her to 9-1 on the season in game one. Emma Conley fell to 5-3 on the season after the game two loss. KCU pitchers had only given up 28 runs and entered with a 1.60 era in 15 games before today.
The Golden Eagles will be back in action this Thursday as they host MEC leading Concord University (22-8, 10-0 MEC) with first pitch slated for 3PM.
