Charleston, W.Va. - The Golden Eagles hosted Concord University on Thursday for MEC Conference play which ended in a draw. Senior Isabella Jaffin (Nescopeck, PA)'s cross found the head of sophomore Ivey Nucilli (Fairmont, WV)Â in the 16th minute to open up the game's scoring. The Golden Eagles continued to hold the majority of possession until Concord's Samantha Wood was able to finish a cross from Kari Simon with four minutes remaining in the first half.
The second half and overtime periods were full of excitement with both teams getting good goal scoring opportunities. Sophomore goalkeeper Zoe Zyta (Listowel, Ontario) was able to contribute big saves to keep her Golden Eagles in the hunt for the win. She would end the game with seven saves.
Thursday's tie moves UC's record to 4-1-2. UC Women's Soccer returns to action against MEC rival Notre Dame at home on Sunday at 1pm.
