BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – The Golden Eagle women's basketball had a setback Saturday afternoon against West Virginia Wesleyan College, losing to the Bobcats 68-55.  The win gave WVWC their first conference win of the season and just their second overall.

The loss drops Charleston's record to 5-10 and 3-6 in Mountain East Conference play.  UC's inability to shoot well from the floor continues to be a problem for the Golden Eagles, only converting on 35% of their attempts Saturday.  They were worse from behind the arc, making just three in 17 shots from distance.

UC and the Bobcats were tied after one quarter of play and remained tied at 25-25 with 3:30 left in the second quarter before WVWC blew the game open by closing the quarter on a 7-0 run to lead at the break 32-25.  Wesleyan continued their momentum into the third quarter to build their lead out to 20, 48-28, midway through the quarter.  The Bobcats would cruise the remainder of the half to earn a 13-point, 68-55 win over the Golden Eagles.

Charleston returns home Monday evening to host Glenville State College with tip-off set for 5:30. Monday's game will be played at the Charleston Catholic Athletic Complex.
