Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

UC Downs West Liberty 3-0

West Liberty, W.Va. - UC traveled to West Liberty on Saturday to play the Hilltoppers on their homecoming and senior day. The game remained scoreless until the 63rd minute when junior defender Kelci Pettiford-Winters (New Albany, OH) played a ball to the feet of sophomore Marieke Kramer (Megchelen, Netherlands) on the left flank.  Kramer pushed the ball into space and finished with a low rope from the side of the 18 into the opposite side netting for the first goal of the match.

The duo of junior Lyndsey Thompson (Shady Spring, WV) and sophomore Fern Peters (Columbia, MD) would connect on similar goals in the 73rd and 78th minutes to put the Golden Eagles up 3-0. On both goals, Peters whipped a ball into the six from the right flank to Thompson for one time finishes.

The Golden Eagles improved their overall record to 10-2-2. UC returns to action on Thursday at home. Game time is scheduled for 2pm at the Fields of Trace Fork. Come out and watch what is promising to be a tough battle between the top two teams in the Mountain East.
