CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Charleston women's volleyball added a pair of wins Saturday evening at the CCHS Athletic Complex, knocking off MEC opponent Notre Dame College in four and sweeping Bluefield State in straight sets in the nightcap.
 
The Golden Eagles improve to 19-9 on the season with today's victories and now an 8-1 mark in Mountain East Conference play.  Middle's Janeese VerVelde & Jordan Wittekind had a strong outing in the opener as they each totaled nine blocks and five blocks each for the Golden Eagles.  Chloe Massaro led UC in assists with 20 while Shiann White was the defensive star for Charleston with 24 digs.
 
The ladies made quick work of Bluefield State to close out the evening, blanking the Blues 3-0.  Wittekind again provided with offensive power with nine kills and four blocks for UC while Claire Lambert paced the Golden Eagles with 11 assists.  Carly Granger turned in a solid effort on defense with 12 digs to lead UC.
 
The Golden Eagles hit the road for their next six matches, starting with Davis & Elkins on Oct. 25 with first whistle slated for 7:00 p.m.
