WHEELING, W.Va. – Charleston men's soccer claimed its third consecutive Mountain East Conference regular season championship Saturday afternoon after defeating Wheeling Jesuit 2-0 in the regular season finale.

The win gave the Golden Eagles the No. 1 seed in the tournament and will play host to West Virginia Wesleyan on Thursday night at 7 p.m. at Schoenbaum Stadium. UC got first half goals from Bruno Oliveira and Felipe Antonio in route to Charleston's 14
th win of the season. Golden Eagle keeper Paulo Pita made five saves that included turning away a second half penalty kick, earning his third consecutive clean sheet.

Urbana has one regular season game remaining but has clinched the second seed and a home game. The Blue Knights will kickoff on Thursday at 3:30 p.m.

The winners in the semifinals will play for the championship on Sunday, Nov. 6, at the home of the highest remaining seeded team.Â
