CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- University of Charleston's Paulo Pita has been named Mountain East Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week announced by the league office Monday afternoon.   Since taking over between the posts for the Golden Eagles, Pita has earned four clean sheets in five starts.  

He has conceeded just one goal in 470 minutes as the Charleston starting keeper with the Golden Eagles posting a 4-0-1 record in his five starts.  This past week alone, Pita turned in two shutouts while making five saves, including a PK in the 2-0 win over Wheeling Jesuit that sealed UC's third consecutive MEC regular season title.
