Paulo Pita has been named Mountain East Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week announced by the league office Monday afternoon. Â Since taking over between the posts for the Golden Eagles, Pita has earned four clean sheets in five starts. Â
He has conceeded just one goal in 470 minutes as the Charleston starting keeper with the Golden Eagles posting a 4-0-1 record in his five starts. Â This past week alone, Pita turned in two shutouts while making five saves, including a PK in the 2-0 win over Wheeling Jesuit that sealed UC's third consecutive MEC regular season title.
