BELMONT, N.C. – Charleston hit the road for a non-conference matchup with Belmont Abbey on Wednesday afternoon, falling to the Crusaders by 17 points, 74-57.

The Golden Eagles were plagued with turnovers, giving the ball away 26 times to Belmont Abbey and shot the ball poorly in the first half, only going 6-for-28 from the field for 21% shooting. The Crusaders took advantage of the UC miscues, scoring 26 points off the Charleston turnovers.Â

Despite leading by three, 15-12, after the first quarter the Golden Eagles fell behind by as many as 24 early in the fourth quarter on their way to their fourth loss of the season. Charleston's Abby Watson led all scorers with 15 points and added six steals to her final numbers.Â

The Golden Eagles get extended time off, not taking the court again until Thursday, December 1
st as they travel to Urbana University for conference play. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
