CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The Lady Golden Eagles were triumphant in their match against crosstown foe West Virginia State Tuesday night, winning 3-0 (25-17, 25-19, 25-14). This win moved UC to 11-1 in MEC Conference play, and 23-9 on the season.
On offense, Charleston was led by Carly Granger, Shiann White, and Janeese VerVelde, who all totaled 7 kills. Claire Lambert put up 16 set assists to aid the offense. Â Defensively, UC had another strong night of blocking, led by Jordan Wittekind, who had 7. The team had 12 total team blocks on the night. Kelsey Matusic added 16 digs in the win.
Charleston will be on the road competing in their last two away matches on November 4th and 5th. First up is UVA-Wise in Wise, Virginia, followed by Concord University.
