SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – The Charleston women's basketball team defeated Notre Dame College 65-61 on Saturday afternoon in a Mountain East Conference matchup.
The Golden Eagles were led offensively by Jordyn Peck, who had a monster night on the floor. Peck netted a season-high 34 points in the contest (13-23 FG, 5-5 FT) while also collecting four rebounds. The guard is now averaging 20.6 points per game after her performance on Saturday afternoon.
Mya Walker also scored in double digits for UC, recording 10 points and grabbing five rebounds in 24 minutes played. Darian Apperson had a team-high nine rebounds to go along with seven points while Abby Watson had eight points, five rebounds and five assists.
Charleston finished 21-49 from the floor (4-17 3PT) and forced Notre Dame to 18 turnovers, leading to 16 points. UC outscored the Falcons in the paint by a margin of 30-26.
The Golden Eagles are now 4-4 overall (3-1 MEC) while Notre Dame falls to 2-6 (1-3 MEC).
UC returns to action on Wednesday evening when it hosts Pitt-Johnstown at 6 p.m.
