CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Former University of Charleston standout Rob Vincent has been acquired on a permanent transfer from Pittsburgh Riverhounds to Major League Soccer's D.C. United.
Â
The Liverpool, England native made a total of 88 appearances and tallied 28 goals in all competitions during his three years in Pittsburgh, where he led the Riverhounds in minutes played as well as overall points. Prior to his USL Pro campaign, Rob led the Golden Eagles to historic heights, which included him tallying a total of 36 career goals and 25 assists, helping lead the Golden Eagles reach their first ever Elite 8 appearance in 2009.
Â
UC Men's Soccer Head Coach, Chris Grassie:
"We wish Robbie all the best in his career with D.C. United and in the MLS. I know Robbie will be a huge hit with D.C. Robbie has been one of the poster-boys for our program here, and someone who lived his life and trained everyday at UC in a professional manner in order to make the career he has. Any young players aspiring to the same level should look at Robbie and see the blueprint for success. He's someone I respect immensely, and I couldn't be happier for his achievements."
