TROUTVILLE, W.Va. – Charleston again rallied to advance in the Mountain East Conference Softball Tournament Championship, overcoming a 3-1 deficit to defeat Concord University 6-3 at the Botetourt Softball Complex Friday evening.

Allison Evans was 2-for-2 and drove in three Golden Eagles while Alyssa Stanley added two hits, driving in one run and scoring another. Jenna Evans reached base twice to score two runs in Charleston's comeback victory.

Jessie Rowe pitched all seven innings for UC, allowing three runs on six hits while striking out two Mountain Lions. Rowe would pick up her 18
th win on the season as Charleston's win streak is now at 24 games.

UC started the scoring when Rachelle Toppings scored from third on a bases loaded wild pitch to give the Golden Eagles an early 1-0 lead after one inning, only to see Concord take a 3-1 lead into the fourth after scoring two in the second and one in the third. Charleston cut into the lead in the fourth inning when Allison Evans' sacrifice fly scored her sister Jenna from third, making it 3-2 going into the fifth frame.

The Golden Eagles used a big fifth inning, as four Charleston players crossed home plate to take a commanding 6-3 lead into the final two frames. The fifth was highlighted by Allison Evans' double to center that drove in two and Stanley's single to center that scored another.

Rowe sat the Mountain Lions down in order in the sixth and game ending double play closed the door on any Concord comeback.

UC now awaits the winner of West Virginia Wesleyan and UVa.-Wise which was scheduled for later Friday evening. Tomorrow's game is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
