South Euclid, Ohio - The University of Charleston Women's Soccer team traveled to South Euclid to play the Falcons of Notre Dame on Sunday afternoon. The game's lone goal would come at the 6:12 mark of the first half when sophomore Ida Garberg (Gjoevik, Norway) served a ball from 25 yards right of center to senior Alice Broadbent (Tamworth, England). Broadbent managed to score the game winner with a header and secured the 1-0 victory.
The Golden Eagles outshot the Falcons 17/14 on the day. UC keeper Zoe Zyta (Listowel, Ontario) recorded five saves and earned her fourth shutout of the year. Notre Dame's keeper, Samantha Shoemaker, would concede the game winner and register eight saves on the day.
Charleston returns to action on Wednesday with a home match against the visiting Cardinals of Wheeling Jesuit for a Mountain East Conference match at 5:00 p.m.
