Charleston, W.Va. - The University of Charleston Women's Soccer team defeated the visiting Cardinals of Wheeling Jesuit by a score of 3-0. Sophomore Marieke Kramer (Megchelen, Netherlands) scored two first half goals at the 3:06 and 32:05 marks. On her first, sophomore Marlee Coleman (Manchester, Conn.) slipped Kramer through on the flank. Kramer then buried the ball from the left side just inside the 18. On Kramer's second finish, junior Lyndsey Thompson (Shady Spring, WV) played a similar ball and Kramer slotted it in for UC's 2-0 lead going into halftime.

In the 58th minute, junior Ivey Nucilli (Fairmont, WV) hit a shot from outside the 18 that was deflected in by a Wheeling defender, giving Nucilli the third and final goal of the match. UC outshot the Cardinals 12/5 on the day and junior keeper Zoe Zyta (Listowel, Ontario) picked up two saves and her fifth clean sheet for the season.

UC returns to action on Saturday when they travel to play Shepherd for a 3:30pm kickoff.
