UC's N'Dah Heads Home a 4-1 Win over #12 Urbana

CHARLESTON, W.Va. - The University of Charleston was on the winning end of a top-15 matchup Wednesday evening at Schoenbaum Stadium, as the #2 ranked Golden Eagles easily defeated #12 Urbana University by a score of 4-1.

UC got a pair of goals from center back Williams N'Dah off set pieces from the corner while Freddie Tracy was involved in the other two Golden Eagle goals, scoing himself in the 77th minute and assisting Will Roberts for the final tally just four minutes later in the 81st minute.

Urbana scored their lone goal in the 72nd minute as Thibaut Bourrier took advantage of a defensive miscue and tucked away a shot into the far post past a diving Fabian Veit.  Charleston outshot the visiting Blue Knights by a 20-6 margin as the Golden Eagles ran their record to 3-0 on the young season.

It didn't take long for UC to find the back of the net as N'Dah headed home a Will Roberts corner just two minutes into the match.  The Golden Eagles struggled to score in the first 45 minutes in their previous two wins as they went scoreless in both opening halves but that wouldn't be the case Wednesday evening.

The match remained 1-0 until the 66th minute when N'Dah buried another header past the Urbana keeper that proved to be the match winner.  Frustration set in with the Blue Knights as four players earned bookings, including a red for Thibaut Bourrier, the goal scorer, in the 85th minute.  Charleston added insurance goals by Tracy and Roberts late in the half to seal a 4-1 win to open Mountain East Conference play.

UC returns to Schoenbaum Stadium on Sunday to host West Virginia Wesleyan with match time set for 2:00 p.m.
