CHARLESTON, WV – The Golden Eagles (3-4, 3-4 MEC) escaped the Cavaliers of UVA-Wise (4-4, 4-4 MEC) 27-21 on Saturday afternoon.

-Mason Olszewski went 9-for-13 with one touchdown in the win, while Tevion Cappe tallied 109 yards on the ground and one touchdown for the Golden Eagles.

-John Cominsky tallied nine tackles for Charleston. The junior defensive lineman tabbed four tackles for loss and one sack while Kahzin Daniels tallied three tackles for loss and 2 sacks in the win.
Wise Game Leaders: Offense
-Jarome Johnson earned 153 yards in the air with two touchdowns. The freshman quarterback also tabbed 33 yards rushing for the Cavaliers.

-Demetrius Mann notched 12 tackled for UVA-Wise.
How it Happened
-With seven minutes to go in the first quarter Olszewski connected with Tyreik McAllister on a 21-yard pass to give Charleston the 7-0 lead.
-Three minutes later Tevion Cappe took the ball one a two-yard run for the 14-0 score.
-Four minutes into the second quarter Kane Roush ran the ball one yard for UC's third touchdown of the game.
-Just before the break the Cavaliers drove the ball down the field and cut the UC lead to 14 with a touchdown by Kaian Duverger.
-Coming out of the half, Andrew Hamilton ran back a blocked field goal, 74 yards to bring the score to 21-14.
-At the start of the fourth quarter Dylan Miles hit a 24-yard field goal to give Charleston a 10-point lead with 12 minutes left to play.
-With 8:54 left to play Jarome Johnson connected with Jacob Cousins on a 77-yard pass for a touchdown bringing the score to 24-21.
-The Cavaliers turned the ball over on fourth down late in the fourth quarter, but Charleston could not find the end zone. Dylan Miles hit a 33 yard FG to give Charleston the 27-21 lead with four minutes to go in regulation.
-With two minutes left to play, Charleston forced a Cavalier fumble and held on to win 27-21.
