CHARLESTON, WV – The University of Charleston Golden Eagles (3-5, 3-5 MEC) fell to the Notre Dame Falcons (7-2, 7-2 MEC) 17-12 on Saturday afternoon.

-Jalen Nelson led the Golden Eagles with 11 tackles while the defensive front of John Cominsky, Kahzin Daniels, and James King each had 10 tackles and combined for 6 sacks in the game. Daniels and his three sacks tied the sacks-in-a-season record of 12.
Falcons Game Leaders: Offense
-Malik Grove threw for 194 yards and 2 touchdowns in the Falcons' victory. Brian Walker led Notre Dame on the ground with 107 yards.
Falcons Game Leaders: Defense
-Claudy Mathieu tallied 15 tackles, six TFLs, and four sacks for Notre Dame.
How it Happened
-Notre Dame opened up the scoring when Malik Grove connected on a 75 yard pass to Darius Johnson just one minute into play.
-The Golden Eagles closed the Gap on their next drive with a 28 yard field goal by Dylan Miles. The fourth quarter ended with a 7-3 Falcon lead.
-Notre Dame continued their early scoring game with another touchdown 30 seconds into the second quarter, but once again the Golden Eagles closed the gap with another Mile FG. This time for 38 yards after the break.
-With 7:39 left in the third quarter Bryce Hankins took the ball 76 yards for the Golden Eagles first and only touchdown on the game to cut the Falcons' lead to just two points.
- The Falcons increased their lead to five with a 31 yard FG by Tanner Harding to give Notre Dame the 17-12 lead with 14:55 left to play.
-Unable to break through the Falcon defense Charleston would end regulation falling to the Falcons 17-12.
