CHARLESTON, WV – The University of Charleston Golden Eagles (3-6, 3-6 MEC) fell on the road to the No. 2 Shepherd University Rams (9-0, 9-0 MEC).

- Connor Jessup went 25-39, notching 317 yards in the air for Charleston, while Jable Lolley tallied 103 yards on the ground for the Rams.

- James Gupton tallied 11 tackles for the Rams, and took the play to the Charleston backfield three times with two TFLs and one sack.
How it Happened
- Shepherd opened up the scoring when Connor Jessup connected with DJ Cornish on a 34-yard pass just six minutes into the first quarter. Less than a minute later Daniel Itza took the ball 71 yards to the Shepherd end zone to tie the game, but UC could not convert on the extra point. The first quarter ended with UC trailing Shepherd 7-6.
- With 9:26 to play in the second quarter Jessup hit Wanya Allen on a 26-yard pass to give the Rams the 14-6 lead. Colar Kuhns took the ball one yard to the end zone bringing the score to 14-12 with three seconds to go in thefirst half. The Golden Eagles two-point conversion failed, sending Charleston into the break down 14-12.
- After the break Shepherd struck quickly with Jabre Lolley catching a pass from Jessup to bring the score to 21-12. On the next Ram drive Jessup took the ball 35-yards with 6:18 to play in the third to give Shepherd the 28-12 lead. The Rams would scored one more time in the third with a 56-yard run by Lolley.
- Shepherd went into the third quarter holding a 23 point advantage. The Rams would score two more times before time expired giving them the 49-12 victory over the Golden Eagles.
