CHARLESTON, WV— The University of Charleston Golden Eagles (16-1-2, 11-0-2 MEC) fell to the West Virginia Wesleyan Bobcats (12-5-6, 9-3-1) after an overtime goal lifted WVWC over UC in the Mountain East Conference Tournament Championship.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Coming out of the gate the Golden Eagles struck fast with a shot by David Achaerandio that narowly missed the net. Charleston was able to get two more shots off in the first nine minutes of the half, but were unable to convert. The Bobcats opened up the scoring with a goal by Matthew Bently at 9:58. 
- The Golden Eagles pushed through the first half, but were unable to penetrate the WVWC defense. 
- The score remained 1-0, although the Golden Eagles out shot the Bobcats 11-4 in regulation. The Wesleyan Goalkeeper tallied six saves for the Bobcats. 
-With just over three minutes to play in regulation, Robin Lapert bangs a header off a corner by Armando Tikvic for the equalizer. Time expired sending the game into overtime. 
- Less than four minutes into the first overtime period Matthew Bentley snuck one past the Golden Eagle's defense to end the game and hand Charleston it's first loss of the 2017 season.
