How it Happened
Urbana's Megan Beachy came out blazing from the field, knocking down her first five shots to score 14 first quarter points and give the Blue Knights a 22-13 lead over Charleston after 10 minutes of action. Turnovers plagued Charleston throughout the entire first half, committing 13 errors that led Urbana to a 10-point, 38-28 advantage over the Golden Eagles.
UC battled back in the third quarter to narrow the gap to six points, 44-50, following a three-pointer from Madison Jones but would be the closest Charleston would get to the Blue Knights. Urbana used their size advantage in the interior led by Sylvia Hudson and strong guard play by Stefanie Davis to come up with answers for each Charleston threat to cruise to a 16-point, 73-57, victory over the Golden Eagles.
