CHARLESTON, WV -- The University of Charleston Women's Basketball Team (9-15, 8-10 MEC) Falls to Glenville State College (20-4, 14-4 MEC) Saturday afternoon.

A TALE OF FOUR QUARTERS
-Charleston found the net first with a pair of free throws by Olivia Nicholas, but the pioneers would answer with a three from Julie Bishop. Glenville State began to pull away in the waning minutes of the first quarter after back threes midway through the 3 minute mark put the pioneers up 19-8 on the golden eagles. Charleston fought to cut the Glenville lead to 8, but would close the first quarter down 24-13.
-The pioneers opened up the second quarter scoring with a three by Julie Bishop. Octavia Loll knocked down back-to-back buckets from the field to bring the golden eagles within 9. After a personnel change Glenville would knock down another three to go back up by 12. Charleston went to the locker room down 36-49 against the pioneers.
-Following the break Charleston cut the Glenville lead to just 8 after a three by senior forward Mya Walker. Glenville capitalized on second chance buckets to maintain their lead through the third quarter. Charleston scored 9 of their 15 third quarter points off the bench.
-Charleston fought the pioneer lead outscoring them 26-12 in the fourth quarter. In the final three minutes Glenville lead the golden eagles 90-70, but after capitalizing on free throws and transition buckets the golden eagles cut the lead to 13 with a bucket by Simone Smith with 21 seconds left. At the end of the fourth Glenville led 90-77.
CHARLESTON INDIVIDUAL LEADERS
-Jordyn Peck led the golden eagles with 22 points and 3 assists.
-Mya Walker notched 18 points and led with 9 rebounds off the bench for UC.
-Anna Hayton tallied 7 boards.
GLENVILLE STATE INDIVIDUAL LEADERS
-Paris McLeod dropped 18 points with Kristin DesRocher just behind tallying 14 points.
-Odyssey Trussell contributed 13 points.
-Erika Toney and Kaelynn Wilson each brought down 7 rebounds.
FROM THE SCORER'S TABLE
-Charleston shot 51.1 percent from the field, while Glenville shot 37.3 percent.
-Charleston out shot Glenville 68.8 percent to 15.4 percent in the final quarter.
-Glenville State tallied 12 steals en route to the win.
