Box Score CHARELESTON, W.Va. – The University of Charleston Men's Volleyball Team (7-6, 0-3 EIVA) battled the battlers of Alderson Broaddus (3-10) through 31 ties and 20 lead changes in their at home loss Tuesday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Alderson Broaddus claimed the first set after battling through 10 ties and 6 lead changes. The Golden Eagles kept the scoring margin within 1 or 2 for most of the match, but after the tenth tie of the set the Battlers pulled away to take the set 25-21.
-Charleston struck first to go up 2-0 in the set after a kill by Rajahl Moxey. The Battlers took the lead at 3-2 with kill by Justin Glader and held on until Charleston's Ryan Santos tied it up at 18-18. Two back-to-back errors by Obenda Besongngem put the Golden Eagles up 20-18 and they were able to hold on and clinch the 25-21 set victory.
-Alderson Broaddus took the 2-1 lead after building a 19-9 advantage mid way through the third set. They would keep the 10 point lead all the way to a 25-15 set victory.
- The Battlers took to the board first , but after tying the set up at 4-4 the Golden Eagles would cling to a 2 point margin for most of the set. The teams battled through 21 ties and 10 lead changes in a suspenseful final set, but Alderson Broaddus edged out UC 31-29 to earn a 3-1 match victory.
CHARLESTON INDIVIDUAL LEADERS
- Rajahl Moxey led the Golden Eagles with a school record tying 18 kills and was second on the night with 11 digs.
- Anthongy Rivera led with 46 assists in the match.
- Darrin DePellegrini set the school record for digs in a match with 23.
ALDERSON BROADDUS INDIVIDUAL LEADERS
- Justin Glader and Obenda Besongngem led the Battlers with 16 kills each. Besongngem also led the visitors with 16 digs in the win.
A DEEPER LOOK
- Charleston attacked at a .221 average (57-25-145), with a final set average of .256 (18-8-39)
- The Battlers hit .277 for the match (55-17-137).
- Charleston recored 10.0 team blocks to the batterler's 12.0
