CHARLESTON, WV – Charleston women's basketball suffered their third straight loss, dropping a close 67-65 decision to Fairmont State University at the Wehrle Sr. Athletic Arena on Saturday afternoon.

A TALE OF FOUR QUARTERS
-The Golden Eagles were celebrating Senior Day against the Falcons and the five seniors made up UC starting lineup. Playing inspired in their last home game as a Golden Eagle, UC jumped on the visitors early scoring the first 9 points before Fairmont got on the scoreboard. Charleston went on to score 23 points in the quarter and carried a 23-15 lead after 10 minutes of action.
-UC built a lead out to 12, 29-17, following a layup by Mya Walker before Fairmont State started to cut into Charleston's first half advantage. The Falcons trimmed UC's lead down to 3, 29-32, late in the half before the Golden Eagles settled for a 35-31 lead going into the halftime break.
-FSU used the momentum gained from their late 2
nd quarter rally to score the first 5 points of the 3
rd quarter and take their first lead over UC in the contest. The Falcon lead would grow to as many as 6, 49-43, but the Golden Eagles closed the quarter strong to take a 50-49 lead into the final 10 minutes of play.
-Again FSU jumped out to a 5 point, 57-52, lead after beginning the 4
th quarter strong but UC went on a 6-0 run to reclaim a 1-point lead with 4:21 left in the game. UC still had the lead with 1:46 remaining but a 9-0 run by Fairmont all but closed the door on Charleston's upset bid as the Falcons escaped the arena with a 67-65 win over the Golden Eagles.
CHARLESTON INDIVIDUAL LEADERSÂ
-Jordyn Peck led all scorers with 26 points on 10-for-15 shooting from the floor.
-Mya Walker chipped in 12 points as the only other double-figure scorer for the Golden Eagles.
GLENVILLE STATE INDIVIDUAL LEADERS
-Diedra Combs paced the Falcons with 22 points and added four steals.
-Makenzie White followed closely behind with 21 points and 7 rebounds.
-Amanda Ruffner rounded out the double-figure scorers with 12 points.
FROM THE SCORER'S TABLE
-Fairmont outscored the Golden Eagle bench 21-15.
-Charleston scored 6 fast break points compared to 0 points for FSU.
-Each team scored 17 points off turnovers.
