ATHENS, W.Va. – Charleston women's basketball put an end to a three-game skid behind a second half surge to defeat Concord University 54-36 for their 10
th win of the season.

A TALE OF FOUR QUARTERS
-Much like their previous game against Fairmont State, UC jumped all over the host Mountain Lions by scoring the game's first 8 points before Concord finally got on the board at the midway point of opening quarter. In a low scoring quarter, the Golden Eagles held a 10-7 lead after 10 minutes of action.
-The Mountain Lions battled back to tie the game at 10-10, but Charleston used a 7-0 run in the middle of the quarter aided by 5 points from senior forward Mya Walker to again take an 8-point lead with 4:22 left in the half. The teams traded baskets down the stretch of the 2
nd as Charleston carried a 25-19 advantage into the locker room at the half.
-Third quarters have been a sore spot but tonight Charleston used a solid 10 minutes out of half to outscore Concord 15 to 7 and held a 14-point, 40-26, lead heading to the final frame.
-Charleston used the momentum gained in the third quarter to build their fourth quarter lead out to 19, 53-34, after Jordan Peck connected on her 4
th triple on the evening. The Golden Eagle defense locked down Concord all night as Charleston cruised to the 18-point, 54-36 victory
CHARLESTON INDIVIDUAL LEADERS
-Jordyn Peck led all scorers with 18 points, draining 4 deep balls on the night
-Mya Walker chipped in 10 points as the only other double-figure scorer for the Golden Eagles.
-Octavia Loll had a career-high in assists, dishing out 5 in win.
CONCORD INDIVIDUAL LEADERS
-Olivia Morgan paced the Mountain Lions with 13 points and added 5 steals.
-Danille Catron scored in double-figures, chipping in 10 points off the Concord bench.
FROM THE SCORER'S TABLE
-UC held Concord to 23% shooting from the floor, making only 12 FG's in the 40 minutes.
-Charleston lost the TO battle, committing 17 on the night as the Mountain Lions came up with 11 steals.
