CHARLESTON, W.Va. – UC men's volleyball was handed a straight set loss Saturday evening at the Wehrle Athletic Arena, falling to Penn State University to drop to 0-5 in EIVA play.

-Byron Hurd led all players in kills with 12 on the night, also his season-high.
-Middles Donavan Wilmott and Eugene Stuart each had 2 blocks for the Golden Eagles.
-Junior setter Anthony Rivera handed out 27 assists on 29 Charleston kills.
-Penn State's Jalen Penrose was the Nittany Lions best player on the court, coming up with 8 kills and served 4 aces.
How it Happened
-Charleston played the Nittany Lions tough in the opening set with the score tied at 14-14, but too many service errors by UC gave Penn State the edge as they closed out a 25-20 opening set.
-It was all PSU in the 2
nd set with Lee Smith leading the way with 7 kills in that set alone as the Nittany Lions cruised to a 25-13 2
nd set victory
-Despite an energetic crowd and a tightly played first part of the 3
rd set, PSU proved to be too much for the overmatched Golden Eagles with Penrose closing out the match with 4 straight points, 3 by way of service ace.
