CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Charleston Volleyball (10-10) bypasses North Greenville University (8-12) 3-1 on Monday afternoon.

GOLDEN EAGLE INDIVIDUAL LEADERS
-Ryan Santos led the Golden Eagles with 19 kills. Brandon notched a season high 14 kills in the win.
-Junior Anthony Rivera earned 48 assists for a season high.
NGU INDIVIDUAL LEADERS
-Matthew McManaway tabbed 12 kills and 8 blocks to lead North Greenville.
-Dustin King led the Crusaders with 17 digs.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-North Greenville struck first during the first set, but UC won the following point. The score was tied four more times before UC took the 8-7 after a Crusader attack error. Charleston managed to hold on the lead through the rest of the set to win 25-19.
-Once again North Greenville scored the first point in set number two. Charleston immediately tied the game up. A kill by Ryan Santos and a service ace gave UC the two-point advantage as the Golden Eagles worked to build their lead throughout the set. NGU tied the game up at 19 after an attack error by Ryan Santos, and took the lead on the next point, but Charleston regained the lead and held on to win the set 25-23.
-Charleston built a lead to start the third set, but NGU took the lead with a kill by Aaron Campbell The Crusaders maintained their lead through the third set. Charleston tied the game up at 22-22, and took the lead on the next play. NGU tied the game back up three more times and took the third set on the next two points (29-27).
-Charleston only needed one more set to end the match and they struck first and held onto the lead until NGU was able to tie it up 8-8. The teams fought through nine more ties before Charleston was able to capitalize on back-to-back NGU errors to take the fourth set 27-25. The Golden Eagles improved to 10-10 on the reason with the win.
