CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The University of Charleston Women's Basketball Team (12-18) knocked off the No. 1 seed Glenville State (24-5) to advance to the Mountain East Conference Tournament Semi Finals.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Glenville found the hoop first and maintained the lead through much of the first quarter. Charleston brought the score within 6 points, but with just over three minutes to go in the first the Pioneers took off to build a 15-point advantage before the end of the period.
- After a scoreless two minutes the Golden Eagles scored 2 with a layup by senior Darian Apperson. Glenville clung to the lead going up by as many as 17 points, but Charleston gained momentum in the final four minutes going on a 13-0 run to bring the game within two possessions to end the half.
- After the half Charleston struck first with a three pointer by Freshman Octavia Loll cutting the Glenville lead to 32-21. Glenville held on to the lead until a pair of free throws by Jordyn Peck tied the game up at 34 all. The score was tied two more times before Charleston took the lead back with 6:33 left in the third and held it through the end of the third leading No. 1 Glenville State 48-43.
- Charleston maintained their lead through the fourth quarter. With a minute to go Glenville brought the score within five points with just over one minute to go in regulation (58-53).
-The Golden Eagles fought to maintain the lead through the final minutes of competition. A pair of free throws sealed the deal for Charleston giving them the 65-57 victory over Glenville State.
CHARLESTON INDIVIDUAL LEADERS 
- Jordyn Peck led the Golden Eagles with 21 points.
- Freshman guard Octavia Loll contributed 16 in the win.
- Senior forward Mya Walker led Charleston in rebounds with 10.
PIONEER LEADERS
- Paris McLeod scored 17 to lead Glenville State.
- Courtney Davis notched a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
STAT CHECK
- Charleston came back from a 17-point deficit to defeat the No.1 seed.
- This is the second time in five seasons under head coach Adam Collins that Charleston has knocked off the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament.
