CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The University of Charleston Golden Eagles (26-11, 14-4 MEC) split their double header with West Virginia Wesleyan College (26-6, 14-4 MEC) on Tuesday evening.

GAME ONE
-After three scoreless innings from both teams, West Virginia Wesleyan's Jessica Rodriguez hit a double to send Marilyn Maas home for the 1-0 score.
-Down one run in the top of the fifth inning, freshman Hannah Kowach hit a double to send Shelby Ume home for the tying run.
-During the top of the sixth inning, Monica Carter hit a double to send Rachelle Toppings home. UC took the 2-1 lead.
-Two batters later Laura Ashlock hit a single to send Carter home for the 3-1 lead. The seventh inning went scoreless for both teams giving UC the victory in game one.
GAME TWO
-In the bottom of the first inning Brooklyn Waddell hit a single to left field that sent Olivia Gore home for the 1-0 score. The second inning went scoreless for both teams, then in the bottom of the third Wesleyan scored on a error by the UC shortstop.
-Krista Waggoner hit a single to second base that sent Morgan Bruce home to bring the score to 3-0.
-Up 3-0 in the bottom of the sixth, Olivia Gore reached first on another UC error that advanced Taylor Barnett to bring the score to 4-0.
-Gore was caught stealing, but allowed Tori Pogue to steal home to bring the score to 5-0. Neither team scored in the seventh inning giving the victory to Wesleyan in game two.
UP NEXT
-Charleston will head to South Euclid, OH to face Notre Dame on Friday, April 14 in a double header scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
