CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The University of Charleston Golden Eagles (28-11, 16-4 MEC) swept Notre Dame (OH) (16-21, 7-15 MEC) on Friday afternoon.

GAME ONE
-Erin Calhoun got the Falcons on the board with a homerun to left field in the top of bottom of the second inning.
-In the top of the third Laura Ashlock hit a double to left center to send Haleigh Christopher and Monica Carter home to take the 2-1 lead. Alyssa Stanley homered to right center to bring Ashlock home bringing the score to 4-1.
-In the bottom of the fifth, Stanley singled to left center to send Shelby Ume home for the score. Ansley Warner stepped up and sent a home run to left field to bring in three runs for the Golden Eagles (8-1).
-Charleston would score three more unanswered runs in the sixth inning before Notre Dame's Shelby Stephens singled down the left field line allowed Myranda Rowland to score for the Falcons. Halli Swiger was walked with the bases loaded allowing Amy Hoover to score, followed by another Falcon's score on a wild pitch.
-The Golden Eagles took game one 11-4.
GAME TWO
-Erin Calhoun got the ball rolling for the Falcons once again when she grounded out with the bases loaded allowing Sarah Depp to score.
-In the bottom of the second freshman catcher Haleigh Christopher hit her 12
th homerun of the game to tie the game up 1-1. Natalie Beck reached first base on an error by the Falcon's second baseman also allowing Ansley Warner to score.
-With the bases loaded Laura Ashlock smacked a grand slam to left field to bring the score to 6-1.
-Shelby Stephens hit a SAC fly to left field allowing Maria Vanadia to score for the falcons bringing the score to 6-2. Bethany Williams hit a single RBI to the shortstop in her first series back since a mid season injury to send Ume home for the 7-2 score.
-Ansley Warner hit her second home run of the day to send Williams and Stanley home to close out game two for the Golden Eagles with a 10-2 victory.
STAT CHECK
-Christopher notched her 12
th homerun on the season.
-Ansley Warner hit her first career home run in game one, and another in game two, while Alyssa Stanley hit her first career homerun in game one.
