ERIE, Pa – Dan Stratford takes his first win as the Golden Eagles head coach after No. 2 Charleston opened up the 2017 with a 3-1 victory over No. 20 Mercyhurst.

How it Happened
-After a scoreless first half the Lakers struck first in the 47^th minute with a goal by Fjodor vanKipperslui.
-Just over one minute later Armondo Tikvic tied the game up for the Golden Eagles.
-Late in the second half Ettore Ballestracci scored his first goal of the year off an assist by senior captain, Will Roberts.
-Roberts sealed the deal for Charleston with less than two minutes to play scoring his first goal of the year to put UC up 3-1.
