SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV – The No. 1 University of Charleston men's soccer team (6-0, 3-0 MEC) shut out the Shepherd University on the road (0-5-1, 0-3-0 MEC ) on Sunday afternoon.

How it Happened
-In the 53rd minute Thomas Vancaeyezeele headed the ball past the keeper off a corner by Kieran Bywater to give the Golden Eagles the 1-0.
-The Golden Eagles struck again in the 73rd minute with a goal by Gabriel Cabral to give UC the 2-0 lead. Charleston held their lead for the final 20 minutes of the half to shut out the Rams, and improve to 6-0 on the season.
-Charleston out shot Shepherd 29-3, and held a 13-0 advantage on corners in the victory.
