CHARLESTON, WV – The No. 1 University of Charleston men's soccer team (7-0, 4-0 MEC) shut out the visiting Notre Dame Falcons (4-3, 2-2 MEC) on Wedndesday afternoon.

How it Happened
-14 minutes into the game Thomas Vancaeyezeele headed the ball past the keeper to put UC on the board 1-0.
-Just three minutes later a handball in the box set up a penalty kick for the Golden Eagles. Senior forward, Will Roberts converts from the spot giving Charleston the 2-0 advantage.
-With less than a minute to go in the half Ettore Ballestracci found the net to increase the Charleston lead to 3-0.
-Coming out of the half Notre Dame held Charleston to a 3-0 score, but the Falcons were unable to find the goal as the Golden Eagles held a 14-2 shot advantage.
-Charleston took the 3-0 victory improving to 4-0 in conference play.
